Anthony Weiner's wife, Huma Abedin, has thick skin.
Standing beside him at his most recent press conference on Tuesday, Abedin told the press that she continues to stand by her husband's side, in the wake of his latest sex scandal.
In the midst of her husband's New York City mayoral campaign, Abedin must once again, relive the marital nightmare she endured several years earlier, when her husband's marital indiscretions came to public knowledge.
This week, entertainment site TheDirty.com posted a graphic photo of Weiner's privates. TheDirty claimed that the picture came from a woman who claimed she had engaged in "sexting" with Weiner in the later part of 2012.
Weiner resigned from Congress on June 23, 2011, after he admitted to engaging in sexually explicit behavior online with a 21-year old woman. The scandal was dubbed "Weinergate" and many predicted that Weiner was done from public life for good.
His political powerhouse wife, Abedin, stayed by his side throughout the first scandal.
Despite his public apologies and his reserve to mend his marriage, recent reports indicate that Weiner continued to engage in such conduct online.
On Tuesday, Weiner seemingly acknowledged that the photos came from him, at a press conference in New York City.
In an April 2013 New York Times piece, profiling Weiner, his wife spoke out about the marital indiscretions:
"I felt like I was in an airplane really high in the air, and all of a sudden, the plane is coming apart at the seams, and I am just doing all I can to hang on for dear life," Abedin said. "That is what it felt like."
