Celebrating Ramadan Around the World

Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting, began on June 28. Muslims around the world abstain from food, drink and sexual relations from sunrise to sunset during the holy month. Ramadan is also a time of spiritual reflection, improvement and increased devotion and worship.
The International Ramadan Photography Competition (IRPC) is a visual celebration of the holy month of Ramadan, which displays the many ways Muslims celebrate Ramadan around the world. The fourth annual competition has three categories: Spiritual, Culture and Architecture, which invites viewers to submit photos that 'Capture the spirit of Ramadan.'
